During a joint operation in western Afghanistan, initial reports indicate more than 25 ISAF and Afghan national security force members were wounded. Members of the joint force were searching for two missing U.S. Army soldiers.

Ospreys Transferred to Afghanistan

Video of MV-22B Ospreys with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, taking off in three waves from the flight deck of the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). The aircraft were flown to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, where they will be transferred to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 and used in support of 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade. This is the first time the aircraft will be used in Afghanistan. The 22nd MEU is serving as the theater reserve force for U.S. Central Command.

ISAF Investigating Civilian Casualty Claim in Helmand Province

ISAF can confirm that shortly before 7:30 p.m., Nov. 4, a single surface-to-surface rocket strike took place near Babaji village in Lashkar Gah against a group of nine individuals whom were believed to be involved in emplacing an IED.
