At least two people who were on the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 were using stolen passports. The news comes as the search for a missing Boeing 777-200 airliner with 239 people on board continues.
According to a report from Breitbart News, Vietnamese aircraft taking part in the search have discovered oil slicks near where the plane’s last known location before it disappeared at 2:40 AM local time on Saturday.
Multiple media reports also indicated that two people reportedly on the list of passengers on the flight turned out to be alive and well, the victims of stolen passports. One of the victims was identified as Luigi Maraldi, an Italian whose passport was stolen in August, 2013. A second person on the flight, an Austrian, also was reported by the Austrian Foreign Ministry to have been a victim of passport theft in 2012. A Malaysia Airlines manifest lists the only Austrian on the flight as a Christian Kozel, age 30.
Three Americans were on board Flight MH370. According to the released passenger manifest, two of them were children under five years old.
