Destroyer, Frigate, Headline Three-Ship Visit

Three ChiCom naval vessels are visiting San Diego, having arrived yesterday.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, the Type 52C-class destroyer Haikou, the Type 54A-class frigate Yueyang, and the supply ship Qiandaohu, also known as a Type 903, arrived in San Diego, where many major units of the Pacific Fleet are based after taking part in this summer’s RIMPAC exercises.

The Type 52C destroyers have 48 HHQ-9 surface-to-air missiles, and 8 C-805 or HN-2 land-attack missiles, or eight YJ-62 anti-ship missiles, as well as a dual-purpose 100mm gun and two 30mm close-in weapon systems. The Type 54A has 32 HQ-16 surface-to-air missiles, 8 C-803 anti-ship missiles, a 76mm dual-purpose gun, and two 30mm close-in weapon systems.
