Three Taliban Leaders Whacked!

ISAF reported the deaths of three Taliban leaders were confirmed over the last three days. In addition, ISAF also reported the capture of two other insurgent leaders.
According to an ISAF release, Tawab was killed in Kandahar province during an ISAF operation. Tawab, a senior Taliban leader, was involved in most of the insurgent activity and attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in the western and central portions of the province’s Panjwa’I district.
ISAF also confirmed the deaths of two Taliban leaders in Helmand province. Mullah Assadullah and Yassin were killed in separate operations. Mullah Assadullah’s group was responsible for numerous attacks on ISAF and coalition forces using improvised explosive devices, automatic grenade launchers, RPGs, and other weapons. Yassin’s group specialized in IED attacks against Afghan and ISAF forces. ISAF also confirmed that Rauf, an insurgent leader, was also killed during operations in Kunar province.
ISAF also confirmed the capture of five insurgent leaders during operations. Two were affiliated with the Taliban, while one each were involved with the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the Haqqani Network, and Lashkar-e Tayyiba.
ISAF’s Regional Command East reported that forces under its command captured one insurgent, discovered seven weapons caches, and cleared 13 IEDs.
