The website for Voice of America was hacked today around 12:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. A group called the Iranian Cyber Army claimed responsibility for the hacking.

Sites at VOANews.com were replaced with an image with a message in badly-translated English asking, "Mrs. Clinton Do you want to hear the voice of oppressed nations will from the heart of the USA?"

After a demand that America stop "interfering in Islamic countries," a list of hacked sites was posted. Sites included studio7news.com, darivoa.com, urduvoa.com, pashtovoa.com, voakorea.com, and voaindonesia.com.

The attack did not take down VOA's breaking news blog, but regular news articles appeared to be affected by the cyber attack.

Voice of America was founded in 1942, and has been broadcasting in Arabic since 1950. Since 1999, it has been governed by a Broadcasting Board of Governors, on which the Secretary of State has a seat.
