UPDATE: FOUR DEAD, 14 WOUNDED AT FORT HOOD
The death toll from the Fort Hood shooting has reached four, including the shooter, while 14 people have been wounded. Six of the wounded are reportedly in critical condition.
According to media reports, the 34-year-old shooter was an Army specialist. The shooter allegedly went through the 1st Medical Brigade building and the Battle Simulation Center. The shooter reportedly killed himself.
Reports of a second shooter remain unconfirmed. There was a shooting at the Washington Navy Yard in September, 2013, where 12 people died, along with the shooter.
Fort Hood was the scene of a terrorist attack by Nidal Hasan in 2009. Hasan shot and killed 13 people, and wounded over 30 before he was shot by responding base police officers Kimberly Munley and Mark Todd.
Fort Hood is home to the 1st Cavalry Division, the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, and a number of other units, including III Corps.
