According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, Cuban intelligence agencies have been active on American college campuses, seeking to recruit intelligence assets. “Cuban intelligence services (CuIS) are known to actively target the US academic world for the purposes of recruiting agents, in order to both obtain useful information and conduct influence activities,” the report stated.

The Islamic State, formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), has been benefiting from data disclosed by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. Other terrorist groups may be benefiting from the massive disclosures as well.

According to a report by the Washington Times, former officials in the intelligence community have reported that the terrorist groups must have studied documents released by the self-proclaimed whistleblower, who worked with journalist Glenn Greenwald.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, a copy of the unclassified report, totaling 60 pages, focused on threats ranging from white supremacists to Puerto Rican nationalists to environmental and animal-rights extremists. The omission has drawn fire from some.

A Coast Guard vessel had a hostile encounter with an Iranian patrol boat earlier this week in the Persian Gulf. Tensions had escalated to the point the Coast Guard vessel fired a warning shot.

According to a report by the Washington Times, an Iranian-flagged dhow had been in touch with the Coast Guard cutter Monomoy, an Island-class patrol boat, when communications suddenly ceased.
