Ukraine: A Defining Moment for Western Civilization and Liberty

Russian President Vladimir Putin is without a doubt one of the luckiest rascals alive. Putin has risen to power at a time when the leaders of the West seem less than courageous. He has invaded a sovereign nation, Ukraine, and with a military force, under the guise of “democratic elections” is poised to annex a vital portion of Ukraine, the Crimean Peninsula.

Of course, this is not the first time western powers have stood in confrontation with Russia over the Crimea.

In a Breitbart column insisting that Ronald Reagan was not as assertive as commonly believed on military and foreign policy issues, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) mentions, in passing, “I met Ronald Reagan as a teenager when my father was a Reagan delegate in 1976.”

The column carried the Rand Paul warning to “Stop Warping Reagan’s Foreign Policy,” even while citing the Reagan connection to his own father.


Boeing 777 Still Missing with 239 Souls on Board

The search continues for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, as the mysterious disappearance of the Boeing 777 with 239 people on board in the early morning hours of 8 March continues to baffle the world. In addition to two stolen passports, it has also been revealed that two more people on board were listed with “suspicious identities” by authorities.

Two People Used Swiped Passports On Missing Flight

At least two people who were on the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 were using stolen passports. The news comes as the search for a missing Boeing 777-200 airliner with 239 people on board continues.

According to a report from Breitbart News, Vietnamese aircraft taking part in the search have discovered oil slicks near where the plane’s last known location before it disappeared at 2:40 AM local time on Saturday.

Members of a militia loyal to Russia stormed a Ukrainian military base near Sevastopol, where the Russian Black Sea Fleet is based. The assault comes as Putin mocked the West, at the same time threatening to turn off natural gas supplies to Europe.


Order Non-ChiCom Fishing Vessels Out of South China Sea

While the world’s attention has been focused on the crisis in the Ukraine, the ChiComs have not been idle. Chinese Communist forces have been pushing out fishing vessels from other countries.

According to a report by TheDiplomat.com, the ChiComs began enforcing maritime regulations set forth in November out of Sansha city, a military base set up in the Paracel Islands. The ChiComs have been more aggressive in the South China Sea over recent years as the Unted States has made major defense cuts.

As the Ukrainian autonomous republic of Crimea’s parliament voted to join Russia, it overshadowed the sad end for a cruiser that served for 36 years. A retired Kara-class cruiser, the Ochakov, was sunk as a blockship off a Ukrainian naval base.
