MURDER-SUICIDE BOMBINGS TARGET PAKISTANI POLITICIANS

Over 30 Killed In Two Bombings

Two bombings in the last two days have targeted candidates from an Islamist party running for seats in Pakistan’s parliament. At least 32 people have been killed in the murder-suicide attacks.

The bombing targeted Sayed Janan and Munir Orakzai, members of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party. According to a report by VOA News, Orakzai was wounded in the earlier attack, for which the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility.

Washington, DC – U.S. Representatives Tom Rooney (R-FL), Chaka Fattah (D-PA) and Frank Wolf (R-VA) today wrote Department of Defense (DoD) Secretary Chuck Hagel, urging him to re-classify the injuries and deaths resulting from the terrorist attack on Ft. Hood – currently designated by the Department as “workplace violence” – as “combat-related.”

Prior to a hearing by the House Committee on Government Oversight scheduled for Wednesday, a new bombshell exploded when details of what one whistleblower from the State Department will tell the committee emerged over the weekend. Mark I. Thompson is the deputy director of the State Department’s counter-terror unit, and will claim that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to cut his unit out of the decision-making process.

The prosecutor who was investigating former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf over his alleged involvement in the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed in Islamabad.

Chaudhry Zulfiqar was en route to an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi in connection with the case surrounding the murder of Bhutto when he was killed by gunmen who attacked his car.

Two Are Kazakhs Already Held On Immigration Charges

Three more suspects have been taken into custody by the Boston Police as the investigation into the bombing at the Boston Marathon continues. This now raises questions about whether the brothers acted alone, or if there was a larger conspiracy.

Two of the suspects, Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, had already been held on immigration charges. They are accused of obstructing the investigation by attempting to dispose of computers and other equipment from the apartment shared by Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
