Zimbabwe's Commercial Farmers Union on Friday said there has been a significant increase in violence against the country's remaining white commercial farmers as the Office of the Attorney General has fast-tracked enforcement of farm takeovers. CFU President Deon Theron says that although farm invasions have been taking place since 2000, the latest round has of officially sanctioned takeovers been more vicious.

An aide to ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says a deal designed to end the country's political crisis has failed, after interim leader Roberto Micheletti announced the formation of a new cabinet. Mr. Micheletti said late Thursday he is installing a national unity government without the participation of  Mr. Zelaya, who has declined to name any cabinet members. Pakistan Arrests Three Suspects in Iranian Bombing

Pakistani officials have announced the arrests of three Iranians in connection with a suicide attack last month in southeastern Iran that killed 42 people. Security officials say the suspects were arrested Thursday in Pakistan's Balochistan province on the Iranian border. A Sunni rebel group that operates in Pakistan, Jundollah (God's Soldiers), has claimed responsibility for the attack in Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan province. Iranian officials have accused Pakistan of supporting the rebel group, raising tensions between the two neighbors.

War Crimes Court to Appoint Lawyer for Karadzic

A U.N. tribunal has ruled that former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic will be appointed a lawyer for his war crimes trial. Judges at the tribunal ruled Thursday the lawyer will represent Karadzic whenever he fails to appear in court. They also ruled that his trial before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia will resume on March 1, 2010.
