Iraqi Security Forces arrested three suspected leaders within their respective al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) cells, as well as three suspected criminal associates, during three joint security operations conducted today in Baghdad and Diyala Provinces.
In Baqubah, located northeast of Baghdad, Iraqi Police and U.S. advisors searched two buildings for a suspected AQI leader for the Tarmiyah area.
Iraqi Police identified and arrested the suspected AQI leader, who allegedly assists in acquiring suicide vests and coordinating suicide attacks in the region.

Iraqi Police arrested four suspected members of IED-cells belonging to al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) today during two joint security operations near Baghdad and Kirkuk.
During a joint security operation conducted in Karmah, west of Baghdad, Iraqi Police arrested an alleged associate of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device cell believed to be responsible for attacks targeting government buildings and civilians in Baghdad.
Intelligence sources led the security team to a location where the suspect was known to be hiding.

Soldiers from the 44th Iraqi Army arrested a Kata’ib Hezbollah cell member during a joint security operation conducted in northeastern Baghdad today.
Iraqi Army and U.S. advisors searched a building for and found the Kata’ib Hezbollah member, who allegedly leads a sniper and missiles group in addition to being part of a media cell that records attacks against security forces in Iraq.
Based on preliminary questioning and evidence found at the scene, 44th Iraqi Army soldiers identified and arrested the Kata’ib Hezbollah member.

Iraqi Police arrested five suspected members of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) and the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) terrorist organizations today during two joint security operations conducted in Diyala and Salah ad Din Provinces.
In Saytiyah, located approximately 110 km northeast of Baghdad, Iraqi Police and U.S. advisors searched for an alleged member of ISI, who is known to be directly linked to AQI. The warranted individual is suspected of facilitating attacks in Baghdad from remote locations in Diyala Province.

The Al Qaim Special Weapons and Tactics unit, with U.S. forces advisors, arrested two individuals suspected of al-Qaeda in Iraq activities Nov 3.
The arrests were made with a warrant issued by the Republic of Iraq Higher Judicial Council Magistrate Court.
“This is the third operation conducted in the last month in the Ramanah District,” said Lt. Mukhlis, an Al Qaim SWAT commander. “Local Iraqis are beginning to come forward with known locations of terrorists throughout the Al Qaim District,”

Iraqi Security Forces arrested five suspected terrorists today during two joint security operations in Baghdad and Sharqat.
In northeast Baghdad, the 44th Iraqi Army, with U.S. advisors, searched two buildings in search of a Promise Day Brigade terrorist group leader who allegedly coordinates attacks against security forces operating in Iraq.
Based on preliminary questioning conducted at the scene, three individuals are suspected of being Promise Day Brigade associates.

Iraqi Security Forces arrested six individuals during two joint security operations today targeting members of al-Qaeda in Iraq-sponsored vehicle borne improvised explosive device networks.
In Bayji, located approximately 102 km southwest of Kirkuk, Iraqi Police and U.S. advisors searched several buildings during a warranted joint security operation in pursuit of VBIED network members operating across Salah ad Din Province.
During the search, individuals on the premises were questioned by Iraqi Police.
