TALKING POINTS EDITOR PROMOTED
Victoria Nuland Nominated for Assistant Secretary of State

The State Department official who was active in editing the talking points prepared for UN Ambassador Susan Rice’s appearance on Sunday talk shows has been nominated to be Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian affairs. Victoria Nuland’s nomination will have to be confirmed by the US Senate.
Nuland’s name was prominent in the editing of talking points. The original draft by the CIA outlined the attack as being carried out by terrorists. The revised version blamed a YouTube video called “Innocence of Muslims.”
Greg Hicks, who barred a State Department lawyer from a classified briefing with members of Congress, was effectively demoted after he questioned the talking points Nuland was invovled in editing.
