The suspect in the killing of former SEAL and author Chris Kyle is facing capital murder charges in Texas.
According to a report from TheBlaze.com, Eddie Ray Routh is being held on a $3 million bond as he has been transferred to the Erath County Jail. Routh is charged with killing Kyle and Chad Littlefield as they were attempting to help him deal with post-traumatic stress disorder at the Rough Creek Lodge in Glen Rose, Texas.
Kyle was considered the deadliest sniper in American history, with 160 confirmed kills during four combat tours. His awards included two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars, according to media reports.
“It was just two great guys with Chad and Chris trying to help out a veteran in need and making time out of their day to help him. And to give him a hand. And unfortunately this thing happened,” Travis Cox, director of FITCO Cares, a non-profit founded by Kyle to provide veterans with workout equipment, said.
On his official Twitter feed, actor Dean Cain, who teamed up with Kyle on the NBC series Stars Earn Stripes, retweeted tributes to Kyle from former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and series host Nick Lachey.
