Report Slams Lack of Security
By Harold Hutchison

Over three years after Bradley Manning leaked hundreds of documents to WikiLeaks.org, the State Department has still not closed a number of vulnerabilities that could result in another leak.

According to a report by Fox News, the Inspector General has warned that not only is classified data at risk, but also personal information for 192 million passport holders. The lapse in security covers tenure not only from the current Secretary of State’s tenure, but also that of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Six reports have highlighted vulnerabilities in the cyber-security efforts of the State Department, one of which was from the Government Accountability Office. The Inspector General took the step of issuing a “Management Alert.”
