Special Forces evacuate collision victim from remote eastern Kandahar
An Afghan man was medically evacuated after U.S. Special Forces medics revived him from an unconscious state following a motorcycle collision in eastern Kandahar province’s Maruf District, April 13.
The man was brought to the district center shortly after the incident occurred early Wednesday morning.
“The patient arrived unconscious and unresponsive,” said a Special Operations Task Force – South officer on site.
"This is a remote place without the kind of hospitals that could give this man the sort of treatment he really needed," he added.
The Special Forces medics were able to get the patient to respond to verbal commands shortly before the medevac aircraft arrived.
The patient was flown to a coalition medical facility for more comprehensive care.
