SOCOM RAIDS INTO AFRICA
Terrorists in Libya, Somalia Targeted
By Harold Hutchison
United States Special Operations Command carried out two raids on terrorist targets in Africa over the weekend. The raids took place in Tripoli, Libya and Baraawe, Somalia.
In Somalia, SEALs carried out a raid targeting a leader of the terrorist group al-Shabab, which recently claimed responsibility for an attack at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya that left at least 67 people dead. The SEALs killed at least one militant before pulling back to avoid civilian casualties.
In Libya, Delta Force commandos captured Abu Anas al-Libi, a senior al-Qaeda operative. Al-Libi is currently being held in an unknown location. The Obama Administration is reportedly going to have FBI agents read al-Libi his Miranda rights, possibly blowing the chance to get more intelligence.
