ISAF Takes Out Taliban Leader

ISAF ended the month of February by taking out a Taliban leader responsible for distributing weapons and IEDs to insurgents. Sadiq was killed during an operation in Helmand province.

Sadiq was also known to have been involved in kidnapping Afghan officials and members of Afghan security forces. A second insurgent was wounded during the operation that killed Sadiq.

ISAF also confirmed the capture of a Taliban facilitator in Helmand province, who was also involved in IED attacks. The unidentified facilitator was also a participant in multiple IED attacks and had allegedly procured and distributed IED parts to his fellow insurgents.
