According to reports from Newsmax.com and Forbes.com, a proposed Small Arms Treaty could pose a threat to Second Amendment rights.
"It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesn’t approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends," Larry Bell wrote at Forbes.com.
Newsmax.com reported that such a treaty could be used to compel the United States to pass strict licensing requirements for even possessing a firearm in one's own home, as well as confiscation of "unauthorized" firearms.
Ominously, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has promised to press for ratification.
