Pakistani intelligence officials say two suspected U.S. drone strikes have killed at least six people in Pakistan's northwestern tribal region.
The officials said the first attack Tuesday struck a house in the North Waziristan region near the Afghan border, killing at least four militants.
A short time later, officials say the second attack hit the same site, killing at least two more people.
The area is a stronghold for Pakistani Taliban and al-Qaida militants who carry out cross-border attacks against U.S.-led NATO forces in Afghanistan. The United States does not confirm drone attacks on Pakistan-based militants, but is the only nation operating the unmanned aircraft in the region.
Tuesday's strikes followed a similar attack a day earlier that officials said killed 18 insurgents.
The officials said Monday drones fired six missiles into North Waziristan's Mir Ali district, hitting two vehicles and a building.
Suspected U.S. drones have carried out about 100 strikes in Pakistani border regions this year, more than double last year's figure.
