Obama Administration Witch Hunt Targeted Fox News

In “leak investigations,” the Obama Administration targeted two reporters and one producer with Fox News Channel. In one case, a reporter was accused of being an “aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator” in the wake of a 11 June, 2009 report. The other case surrounded a reporter and producer who were investigating the scandal surrounding Operation Fast & Furious.
James Rosen was investigated in connection with a 11 June, 2009 report on the possible effects of tightened sanctions on North Korea. The Fox News reporter, now the network’s Chief Washington correspondent, was the subject of a search warrant, and the Justice Department was also tracking his movements via his security badge.
Reporter William La Jeunesse and producer Mike Levine were targeted as well. La Jeunesse was one of a few reporters who was investigating the ATF operation that allowed hundreds of firearms to fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.
At the Washington Examiner, Philip Klein wrote, “The suggestion by the DOJ that Rosen broke the law, if followed to its logical conclusion, would mean the end of investigative journalism in America.”
