Slams Senators Paul, Cruz Over Brennan Filibuster
By Harold Hutchison
Senator John McCain (R-AZ) continued his feud with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) in an interview with the Huffington Post. The Arizona Senator took his criticism of Paul’s filibuster to a new level in the interview.
“It's always the wacko birds on right and left that get the media megaphone,” McCain said in the article by Jon Ward. “I think it can be harmful if there is a belief among the American people that those people are reflective of the views of the majority of Republicans. They're not.”
McCain’s comments came as Senator Paul received laudatory coverage from a number of conservative media outlets. “You are, in certain ways, a hero to a lot of people today, and I hope this kind of thing continues,” radio host Rush Limbaugh told Paul in an interview on Thursday’s show.
“Senator, thank you very much. And very proud of the stand you made yesterday. Very proud the way you handled it, and I’m just, I’m glad you’re in Washington, sir. Thank you,” Glenn Beck told the Senator in what was Rand Paul’s first interview after the roughly 13-hour speech.
