ISAF Wounds Second Taliban Leader

The International Security Assistance Force confirmed that Jalal, a mid-level Taliban leader, was killed during an operation in Kunduz province. Jalal was involved in improvised explosive device, rocket-propelled grenade and small-arms attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.
ISAF also confirmed that a second Taliban leader was wounded during operations in Jowzjan province. The wounded Taliban leader was responsible for attacks against ISAF and Afghan forces, and also carried out illegal taxation on behalf of the Taliban. Another Taliban leader and a Taliban facilitator were captured during operations over the last two days.
Forces under the command of ISAF’s Regional Command East killed eight insurgents, captured another eight insurgents, disarmed 11 improvised explosive devices, and cleared one weapons cache. The weapons cache contained four IEDs, eight mortar rounds and hand grenades.
