Al-Qaeda Terrorists Plotted Train Derailment
By Harold Hutchison
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced the arrest of two suspects who were planning to derail a passenger train yesterday, accusing them of having links to al-Qaeda elements located in Iran.
The Iranians denied any involvement, instead claiming the Canadian comments to be based on “ridiculous fabrications.”
The plot was broken up a week after two bombs killed three people and wounded over 170 near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Of the two suspects involved in that case, one was killed in a shootout with police, the other was captured.
