Authors of Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs Blocked
By Harold Hutchison
Pamela Gellar and Robert Spencer have been barred from entering the United Kingdom to speak at a rally where a British soldier was killed by two men. The British Home Office announced the ban, stating, that their entry would be blocked because it was not “conducive to the public good.”
Gellar, who blogs at Atlas Shrugs, and Spencer, who founded Jihad Watch, had been the subject of controversy before. Gellar had been a leading opponent of allowing the Ground Zero mosque to go forward, and had posted pro-Israel ads.
Spencer and Gellar posted the letters they received from the Home Office on their blogs. Is free speech dying in the UK – and will it be threatened in the United States?
