AUP, ALP in Action!
By Harold Hutchison
During operations over the weekend, Afghan cops seized over 300 kilos of drugs and thwarted an IED attack.
The drug seizure was carried out by Afghan Uniformed Police in conjunction with Afghan Local Police militia units. The opium, which can go for as much as $30 a gram on American streets, was seized after the Afghan cops received a tip.
The thwarted IED attack was the second to target a cell-phone tower in Arghistan district, Kandahar province. The Afghan police used recent counter-IED training to successfully defeat the improvised explosive device.
