The Afghan National Army, supported by an international security patrol, destroyed 16 rockets and one mortar round in Kandahar province, Feb. 7-8.
The ANA were conducting a patrol near Darivshan village when they received a tip from an Afghan civilian informing the patrol of a weapons cache. The ANA soldiers went to the cache site where they recovered 16 107mm rockets.
The following day the same patrol element found an 82mm mortar round in a garden near Shotor Gardon village.
The ANA soldiers safely destroyed the rockets and mortar round.
No civilians were harmed during the conduct of this operation.
