Obama Proposes Massive Slash in Force
By Harold Hutchison
A dozen brigade combat teams will be cut by the Obama Administration as part of a proposal to take the active-duty Army down to 490,000 troops by 2017. The cuts will take the Army down from 45 active brigade combat teams to 33.
This is just the latest in what has been over four years of cuts, including the halt of F-22 production at 187 airframes, and cancellation of the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle. Is the Obama Administration setting out to make America weaker?
