PENTAGON HARASSED CHARITY
“Operation Bedsheet” Pulls Plug
By Harold Hutchison
A charity that was sending care packages, including clean bedsheets, to the troops was reportedly harassed by the Pentagon until it shut down. Operation Bedsheet started when RoxAnne Christley heard about the need for clean bedsheets to a deployed hospital unit.
Christley’s efforts received coverage from Fox News. Rather than thanking her, however, the Obama Administration instead insisted the charity cease operations. The charity eventually shut down its website after what Christley called “harassment.”
However, despite the setback, Christley’s efforts have not stopped. A reserve officer, who formed his own charity, Troops Need you, to help address shortages troops face while on deployment, has started helping her send clean bedsheets to troops deployed in Afghanistan.
