Charge in Spokane auto theft killing rekindles lethal force debate

Almost immediately after Spokane County Prosecutor Steve Tucker announced yesterday that 56-year-old Gail Gerlach would face a charge of first-degree manslaughter in the slaying of auto thief Brendon Kaluza-Graham on March 25, debate over the use of deadly force in the case erupted anew.

Barack Obama will sign the UN Arms Trade Treaty on 3 June, even though it is very unlikely to be ratified by the United States Senate. The Treaty passed by a 153-4 vote in the UN General Assembly after the Obama Administration abandoned previous positions requiring “consensus” for an Arms Trade Treaty.

The arrest of a former Hezbollah commander in Texas had not been covered by the mainstream media – even as shocking revelations about his past in the terrorist group have come to light in a bail hearing.

Wissam Allouche was arrested in 2011, and charged with failing to disclose his past with the terror group. Allouche was recorded during the three-year investigation boasting about sodomizing and killing a captured Israeli soldier.

A suspected American UAV strike killed the second-in-command of the Pakistani Taliban in North Waziristan, a restive part of the world’s largest Muslim country.

Waliur Rehman’s death, if confirmed, would be a major victory in the War on Terror for the United States. Rehman did have a $5 million reward on his head through the “Rewards for Justice” program.
