The longest waiting period to take possession of a legally-purchased firearm has been invalidated in some cases by a federal judge. The ruling came down earlier today.

Fort Lee, where the headquarters of the Army’s Combined Arms Support Command is located, was locked down briefly this morning. The lockdown came after reports of an active shooter were released. The shooter turned out to be a female soldier who had shot herself.

The United States Army aborted a test of a hypersonic weapon after the missile carrying the testbed system suffered an “anomaly” according to the DOD. The system had been tested successfully in 2011.
