Republicans Seek Depositions As New Scandal Emerges

The fallout from the hearings held by the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday hit over the Sunday shows. On Fox News Sunday, Congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, predicted that more whistleblowers would come forward. Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Oversight Committee also said he was seeking depositions from officials.

An Intended Insult to NRA, But A Mission Statement for NSSF

In an op-ed published in the Houston Chronicle during the NRA convention, gun-control proponent Mark Kelly critiqued the NRA in advance of its annual convention in Houston. Kelly appears to be working to become the most prominent national spokesman for gun control, and his rhetoric ramped up considerably in the wake of the Senate votes to defeat the wide-ranging gun control agenda. In this particular op-ed Kelly went so far as to suggest it was time for new leadership at NRA.

Prayer in Arabic Hides Insult

A Muslim cleric invited to preside over a funeral for fallen members of the elite unit popularly called SEAL Team Six is alleged to have insulted the fallen SEALs during the service.

According to multiple reports, at the service held in Kabul, Afghanistan, the cleric denigrated the SEALs as “infidels who are fodder for the hell fire” while speaking in Arabic. The cleric’s comments came to light in a press conference held by the families of three of the fallen SEALs, who were represented by Larry Klayman.

Gov’t smackdown on 3-D gun plan distributor

Defense Distributed, the Texas-based company that has been causing a stir over 3-D printer guns has complied with a State Department ban on the online posting of details about how to make a plastic gun, just days after the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives revealed it was looking at the technology.

INSURGENT LEADER KILLED IN BAGHLAN

Khialuddin Lead Taliban, IMU Insurgents

ISAF confirmed that Khialuddin, an insurgent leader who had ties to the Taliban and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, was killed during operations in Afghanistan earlier this week. ISAF also confirmed the capture of three Taliban leaders and an insurgent facilitator.

Two of the Taliban leaders were captured in Helmand province, and the third Taliban leader was nabbed in Kandahar. The Haqqani Network facilitator was captured in Logar province. The Taliban leaders had all been involved in carrying out attacks.

State court hack shows why gun owners want pistol registry scrapped

Almost immediately after yesterday’s revelation that the Washington State administrative office of the courts had been hacked, the Bellevue-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said the case underscores why Washington gun owners “are adamantly opposed to background check records keeping, and want the state’s pistol registry destroyed.”
