ABC Ignores Its Own Story About Fort Hood Victims

ABC’s news programs on TV, including World News Tonight have not followed up on a story posted on the ABC News web site about the Pentagon’s denial of Purple Hearts to victims of the terrorist incident at Fort Hood. The medals have been denied because the attack has been categorized as “workplace violence” by the Obama Administration.

Gun-grabber Mark Kelly was initially denied an effort to purchase his M1911 pistol at a gun store in Tucson, Arizona. Apparently, the initial denial came when he attempted to use identification from Texas to buy the handgun.

A yellow dot enters the dark, round field of a radar screen. Its appearance does not go unnoticed in the wheelhouse of the hijacked, commercial fishing boat—now a pirate “mother ship.” The Somali leader of the “pirate attack group” (NATO’s term for an operational raider unit) studies the screen. After a few minutes, he orders the boat’s hostage crewmen to steer an intercept course with the unidentified ship, still a few dozen nautical miles away on the Indian Ocean.

The United Nations, with support from the Obama administration, has adopted the controversial international Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) that may be dead on arrival when it is submitted to the U.S. Senate for ratification.

NRA RELEASES SCHOOL SAFETY PROPOSALS

Broad Report Suggests Full Range of Efforts

The NRA’s School Shield Program released a 225-page report, which included measures for prevention, as well as steps to be prepared for an incident and a means to respond to an incident. The report, presented by former DEA chief Asa Hutchinson, was intended as a response to the 14 December shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

ISAF Takes Out Taliban Leader!

ISAF confirmed that Mukhils, a Taliban leader in Helmand province, was killed during an operation. This is the second Taliban leader to be confirmed dead since Friday. Mukhils lead a Taliban cell that carried out attacks against ISAF and Afghan forces.

ISAF also confirmed that a Haqqani Network facilitator in Paktiya province. The unidentified facilitator was responsible for distributing weapons to insurgents, and had also been involved in placing IEDs used in attacks.

A man identified by the Tacoma News Tribune as Troy Neal, 28, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday in relation to his apparent involvement in a fatal shooting incident outside an Auburn sports bar early Sunday; a case that underscores the futility of “feel good” gun laws that target the wrong people.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PASSES ARMS TRADE TREATY

Start of a UN Gun Grab?

After negotiations to build a consensus failed, the UN General Assembly rammed through the Arms Trade Treaty by a vote of 154 to 3, with 23 abstentions. The only three “no” votes were Syria, Iran, and North Korea.

The Obama Administration abandoned its insistence upon consensus late Thursday, paving the way for the General Assembly to ram through the treaty.

Semi-Auto Ban, Permit to Purchase Ammo Among Provisions

Connecticut will have some of the most restrictive gun laws after a bi-partisan deal was struck. The legislation will include not only a semi-auto ban, but will require registration of magazines holding more than ten rounds.

The legislation is being hailed by gun-control groups. “We have to be satisfied. There are still other things that we want, we'll be back for in later sessions,” Rob Pinciaro, the executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence, was quoted as saying in an AP report.
