Disarming IEDs, Training New Afghan Troops

ISAF has not only been fighting insurgents, but they have also been helping establish a means for Afghans to fight the Taliban themselves. One area where this has shown has been in disarming IEDs.

On 11 April, Afghan units disarmed three IEDs in ISAF’s Regional Command East. One IED was disarmed in Wardak province, another in Logar province, and the third in Ghazni province. This took the total of IEDs cleared in RC-East to 28 over the course of the last week.

First 100 Troops Leave Mali

As the first 100 French troops left Mali, a sign that France is ending an intervention against Islamist rebels aligned with al-Qaeda, many in Mali are wary of the departure, even as 11,000 African Union troops are slated to take over.

According to a report by VOA News, the French force is likely to decline to about 1,000 by the end of the year. The French did much of the heavy lifting the conflict.

Gun-Grabbing Senator Cites Terrorists

Want to sell a gun to a friend or a co-worker you have known for years? If Dianne Feinstein gets her way, you may become a federal felon for doing that.

According to a report by Breitbart.com’s Big Government, Feinstein made comments claiming that terrorists would try to buy guns at gun shows during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program.
