European Participating Air Forces of 18 Danish, Netherlands and Norwegian F-16 ground attack fighters aircraft deployed to Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan to support operations in Afghanistan in 2002. China's war arsenal grows as it builds up its air and naval forces while American naval forces have been declining in number.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, a congressional commission is noting that by the year 2020, China will have almost 100 more missile-firing ships and submarines deployed than the United States. A possible result could be a so-called “security miscalculation” that could lead to conflict.
