American Law Enforcement Targeting Cartels
By SOF Staff

Members of the United States Marshals Service, the oldest federal law enforcement agency, have been carrying out operations in Mexico while wearing the uniforms of Mexico’s Marine Corps. The operations have been targeting drug cartels that run billions of dollars’ worth of cocaine, heroin, and other drugs into the United States.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the Marshals have sent specialists into Mexico on an average of once every three months. The Marshals wear uniforms of the Mexican Marines, and carry weapons while on those operations. The operations have the approval of the Mexican government, as well as the Mexican Marines and the Marshals Service. U.S. Marshals have high-technology gear that helps Mexican authorities, including aircraft that mimic cell phone towers.
