A nasty gunfight in China’s Xinjiang Region, which has been violent since 2009 riots killed 200 people, left 21 people dead. The fight started after social workers called in police after seeing some people with knives.

While New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is the most notorious big money man for the gun-grabbing extremists, another billionaire is opening his checkbook. George Soros, who has funded anti-gun efforts to the tune of $7 million.

Among the recipients of Soros’s largesse: The Brady Campaign, perhaps the most visible anti-gun group that has counted Sarah Brady as a long-running activist against your Second Amendment rights, and the Children’s Defense Fund, which recently launched a “Protect Children, Not Guns” campaign.

House Report Slams Former Secretary of State

An interim report from five committees of the House of Representatives blasted former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for failures leading to the 11 September, 2012 attack on the consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in the attack.

FRENCH EMBASSY ATTACKED!

Three Wounded in Tripoli Bombing

Three people were wounded when a car bomb went off outside the French embassy in Tripoli. It comes less than eight months after the American consulate in Benghazi was attacked, leaving four Americans dead.

French President Francois Hollande declared the bombing an attack on all countries targeting terrorism, adding, “France expects the Libyan authorities to shed the fullest light on this unacceptable act, so that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice.”

FBI Releases Suspect

The FBI has released the suspect in the mailing of letters laced with ricin to Senator Roger Wicker and Barack Obama. Paul Kevin Curtis was initially taken into custody as a suspect.

The letters were revealed during the hunt for the suspects in the bombing that killed three people near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The letters were intercepted at off-site screening locations.

ANOTHER SENKAKU ISLANDS INCIDENT

ChiCom Ships Probe Area

Chinese Communist ships again sailed near the Senkaku Islands, which are the subject of a maritime territorial dispute between Japan and the ChiComs. The ChiCom probe occurred as Japanese citizens were in the area to survey the islands.

The ChiCom group of ships was the largest since tensions increased in September, 2012. Three ships in the area were quickly joined by five more.

VA Expediting Decision on Claims

The Department of Veterans Affairs is moving to expedite decisions on claims that have been languishing for over a year.

"Too many veterans wait too long for a decision, and this has never been acceptable," Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki said in a release by the Department. "That is why we are implementing an aggressive plan to eliminate the backlog in 2015. This initiative is the right thing to do now for veterans who have waited the longest."
