10 American Missionaries in Haiti Charged with Kidnapping and Criminal Association

Haitian authorities have charged 10 American missionaries with child kidnapping and criminal association for allegedly trying to take 33 Haitian children out of the country illegally. Haiti's government has suggested the case could be transferred to the United States but, for the moment, the ten have been returned to a jail in the capital Port-au-Prince where they have been held since their arrest last Friday.

IJC Operational Update, Feb. 5

An Afghan-international security force searched a compound south of the village of Bangluk, in the Kalakan district of Kabul province after intelligence information indicated militant activity and detained a few insurgents. In other operations, a joint ANSF-international security force arrested several suspected insurgents and confiscated a weapons cache in the Paghman district of Kabul yesterday.

COP Keating Investigation Findings Released

U.S. Forces Afghanistan released the findings from the investigation into the Oct. 3, 2009 complex attack on Combat Outpost Keating in the Kamdesh district of Nuristan province, Afghanistan. Soldiers of B Troop, 3rd Squadron, 61st Calvary heroically repelled a complex attack from an enemy force of 300, killing approximately 150 enemy fighters. The attack resulted in the deaths of eight U.S. Service members and the wounding of 22 more.

2 NCOs help save aircrew, B-1B

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Two 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron master sergeants helped save four B-1B Lancer aircrew lives and prevented the loss of the $283.1 million aircraft during its emergency landing shortly after midnight Jan. 18 here. Master Sgts.
