Reveal Intelligence Operations in South America

Argentine President Cristina Kirchner has called for a “strong statement” from South American leaders in the wake of new leaks by self-proclaimed whistleblower Edward Snowden. Snowden is currently contemplating asylum offers from Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Bolivia.
A Brazilian newspaper released new information about NSA surveillance operations in Latin America based on information provided by Snowden. Hezbollah has carried out terrorist operations in Latin America in the past, notably a 1994 bombing in Argentina, and is reportedly trying to expand its reach in the region.
The former NSA analyst has been stuck in the transit zone of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport without a valid United States passport since fleeing Hong Kong.
