MORE PC HITTING THE DOD?
New Details in Reprimand of Master Sergeant; Air Force Base Forced to Pull Video
By Harold Hutchison
More details emerged in the reprimanding of an Army NCO who served Chick-Fil-A sandwiches at a party celebrating his promotion to the rank of Master Sergeant. The senior non-commissioned officer was also counseled over his choice of reading material, including books by David Limbaugh and Mark Levin, and for bumper stickers on his personal vehicle.
Nathan Sommers, a 25-year veteran, told Fox News correspondent Todd Starnes that he may have been targeted because he is a devout Christian, “It seems like with the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell – that the Christians have been the ones who’ve had to go underground and in the closet – for fear of retaliation and reprisals.”
Meanwhile, in another potential case of PC gone amok, a video featuring a poem called “God Created a First Sergeant” – based on the “God Created a Farmer” video that was the basis for a Dodge commercial, was ordered taken down by the DOD due to concerns it would offend Muslims or atheists.
The video removal is the latest incident in which Christians appear to have been targeted by DOD, in the wake of news that senior officials have met with an anti-Christian activist.
