Taliban Leader Taken Out!

ISAF confirmed that forces under its command killed a Taliban leader during operations in Helmand province. Mullah Abdul Zahir was responsible for arranging large shipments of weapons and IED components into Helmand province for use in attacks against Afghan and coalition forces and assassinations against Afghan National Security Force members while also providing intelligence to senior Taliban leaders.
ISAF also confirmed killing three other insurgents in Helmand province while hunting two other Taliban leaders. ISAF also announced the seizure of 132 pounds of ammonium nitrate aluminum powder. The material was destroyed on site.
Over the last two days, forces under the command of ISAF Regional Command East killed 13 insurgents, captured ten more, discovered four weapons caches, and cleared 11 improvised explosive devices. An Afghan force operating on its own killed seven of the insurgents.
