RC-East Clears 16 IEDs in Two Days

ISAF confirmed that two Taliban leaders were killed and two facilitators were captured during operations in Afghanistan over the last two days. Mohammed Khan was killed during an operation in Kandahar province, where he served as an intelligence advisor who directed improvised explosive devices. Obaidullah Jan was a senior Taliban leader in Wardak province who coordinated ambushes of ISAF and Afghan forces.
ISAF also confirmed that two Taliban facilitators were captured, one in Helmand province, and one in Kandahar province. ISAF also confirmed that in northern Afghanistan, a dozen insurgents were killed by Afghan National Army commandos.
ISAF’s Regional Command east reported that forces under its command killed one insurgent, captured two others, located one weapons cache, and disarmed sixteen improvised explosive devices.
