ISAF CAPTURES FOUR TALIBAN LEADERS
Leader From Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan Killed

ISAF confirmed that it captured four Taliban leaders during operations in Afghanistan over the past three days. In addition, a Haqqani Network leader was captured, and a leader of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan was confirmed as killed. Two insurgent facilitators were also captured.
Haji Hafiz was killed during an operation on 9 April in Baghlan province. Hafiz lead a cell that carried out attacks on ISAF and Afghan forces, as well as IED attacks. The Haqqani Network leader was captured in Khost province, where he was responsible for ambush attacks on ISAF and Afghan forces.
Two of the Taliban leaders were operating in Helmand province. One targeted Afghan government officials, the other carried out IED attacks. The two Taliban leaders in Kandahar were responsible for insurgent attacks against ISAF and Afghan forces.
In ISAF’s Regional Command East, ISAF and Afghan forces killed seven insurgents, captured four, cleared two weapons caches, and disarmed nine improvised explosive devices.
