Iraqi Forces Arrest 10 Al-Qaida in Iraq Associates
Iraqi security forces arrested 10 suspected associates of the al-Qaida in Iraq terrorist organization in several operations July 30, military officials reported.
Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisers searched several buildings in Mansuriyah for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member who allegedly is responsible for building and emplacing bombs that attach magnetically to vehicles. Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest four suspected criminal associates of the wanted man.
In Ghazaliah, Iraqi forces and U.S. advisers arrested two suspected criminal associates while searching for a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader who allegedly is responsible for recruiting and inducting new members into the terrorist organization.
Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisers in Tarmiyah arrested four suspected al-Qaida in Iraq criminal associates while searching for a suspected financier for the terrorist group who also allegedly is responsible for planting roadside bombs targeting Iraqi and coalition forces.
