Insurgents Attempt to Attack Kandahar Air Field

Send to a FriendA small group of insurgents attempted to breach the outer perimeter of Kandahar Air Field Tuesday with rocket and suicide bomber attacks.
International Security Assistance Force forces engaged the insurgents and prevented them from accessing the base or affecting base operations.
The attack consisted of multiple rocket attacks, multiple suicide bombers and small arms fire. Five insurgents were killed by ISAF forces.
One ISAF civilian was wounded in the attack.
