ISAF confirmed that Khialuddin, an insurgent leader who had ties to the Taliban and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, was killed during operations in Afghanistan earlier this week. ISAF also confirmed the capture of three Taliban leaders and an insurgent facilitator.

Two of the Taliban leaders were captured in Helmand province, and the third Taliban leader was nabbed in Kandahar. The Haqqani Network facilitator was captured in Logar province. The Taliban leaders had all been involved in carrying out attacks.

ISAF’s Regional Command East reported that forces under its command killed three insurgents, captured five, located two weapons caches, and disarmed 20 improvised explosive devices.
