Illinois gun ban proposal reeks of rhetoric, falls short on substance

When Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn on Tuesday announced his intention to ban so-called “assault weapons” in the Prairie State – a decision based in large part on the recent Colorado movie massacre – the Bellevue-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms was quick to challenge the anti-gun governor, and the group has homicide statistics on its side.
