Penn, Weinstein Target Second Amendment
By Harold Hutchison

Two big names in Hollywood are making statements against your gun rights. This is often typical of these A-list stars, who are able to hire armed bodyguards.

The first of these is Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn, who famously had a gun while aiding victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 Penn, who is now dating another Academy Award-winner, actress Charlize Theron, is giving over his guns to have them melted into a sculpture that will be auctioned off. In a statement, Penn described his guns as “cowardly killing machines.” In a twist of irony, Theron’s mother used a firearm to defend herself in a domestic violence incident, killing her abusive husband.

More worrisome could be a planned project by Harvey Weinstein and Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep. Weinstein, best known as a producer of many critically-acclaimed films, has vowed that the NRA was “going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.” According to a report by the Washington Times, Weinstein, however, said that there was a justification for using guns, for defense when someone was “marching a half of a million people into Auschwitz.”

Weinstein, however, did not seem to notice that the Nazis were able to disarm the Jews using registration lists. Currently, gun control advocates in California have managed to push through registration of long guns. In New York City, gun registration lists have been used for confiscation.
