Documents Sent to Fox News

Nidal Hasan, who is facing a court martial over the 5 November, 2009 shooting at Fort Hood that killed 13 people and wounded 30, has renounced his American citizenship and his oath as a soldier. The renouncements came in a package of documents sent to Fox News.
According to media reports, Hasan wrote that Anwar al-Awlaki was “my teacher, mentor and friend. I hold him in high esteem for trying to educate Muslims about their duties to our creator. May All-Mighty Allah accept his martyrdom.” Awlaki was killed by an American UAV strike in Yemen on 30 September, 2011.
Hasan also declared that Muslim sharia law trumped all other allegiances, and in a second statement wrote, “The constitution of the United States may be seen as a man made god competing with All-Mighty Allah’s sovereignty.”
The Obama Administration has consistently categorized the Fort Hood attack as “workplace violence” – even as evidence mounts that it was a terrorist attack.
