Democrats Make Comments on Rape, But Get Pass from Media

Perhaps the most appalling comments during the massive gun grab fuelled by Colorado governor John Hickenlooper have come from Democrats in the state legislature – often addressing rape victims who have spoken out against the passage of the proposed laws. Yet the media has mot pounced on these comments as they did those of Republican Senate candidates Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock.

State sheriff’s associations oppose Obama anti-gun proposals

The Washington Examiner is reporting that 14 state sheriffs’ associations have lined up against President Barack Obama’s gun control agenda, but noticeably absent are groups in Oregon and Washington.

As new background check numbers for February became available, suggesting a continuing national surge in gun sales, the newly-created Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR) – a Seattle-based gun control group – launched its Facebook page and gun rights activists quickly jammed its message board.

Party Line Votes Move Anti-Gun Bills Out of Committee

A series of anti-gun bills moved forward to the full Colorado State Senate on party-line votes. The package of legislation, which restricts many standard-capacity magazines, bans concealed carry on campus, and which ends private gun sales among other things, advanced despite vehement grassroots opposition, some of which came from survivors of the 1999 Columbine shooting.

Maryland Gun Law May Wreck Supply Chain for M9 Pistol

The gun-grabbing legislation that Maryland governor Martin O’Malley is supporting could be bad news for the troops due to a provision in the law. Should it become law, the legislation could prevent Beretta from assembling the M9 pistol in their factory in Accokeek.

According to a report by the Washington Times, the proposed law would prohibit anyone from receiving a magazine that holds more than ten rounds. Beretta’s M9, a version of the Model 92, has a standard magazine capacity of 15 rounds.
