New Holder video surfaces on F&F ‘misunderstanding’ and Grassley reacts

The Justice Department's claim that Attorney General Eric Holder misunderstood a question from Congressman Darrell Issa regarding when Holder first knew about Operation Fast and Furious is now being questioned because additional video from the same hearing, showing Holder responding to essentially the same question from Congressman Jason Chaffetz, appears to contradict that assertion.

CBS News reported Monday evening that Attorney General Eric Holder apparently knew about Operation Fast and Furious months before he admitted to the House Judiciary Committee earlier this year under questioning from Congressman Darrell Issa.

Looming ‘buy-outs’ rumored at ATF; fallout from F&F?

Today’s edition of the Federal Times is reporting that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is looking to trim its staff and its budget with buy-outs and early retirements, leaving one to wonder if at least some of those considering leaving the agency aren’t merely distancing themselves from an agency embattled over a gun trafficking scandal.

Holder revives Wales investigation; Is this to deflect F&F attention?

Issaquah gunman: Didn’t take long for nuts to blame NRA, gun rights

Dept. of Irony: Budget axe gets honed as Obama comes to town

Critics of Barack Obama have been joking lately that every time the President speaks the stock market takes a nosedive, so it is with no small amount of irony that headlines in both the Seattle Times and on-line Seattle Post-Intelligencer are talking about $2 billion more in budget cuts looming, just as Obama heads for Seattle Sunday for some fund-raisers.
