The only question that matters...

The only question that matters may not be asked in Olympia

When former Congresswoman Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords appears today in Olympia to testify in favor of Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control measure being sold as a “universal background check” requirement, only one question should be asked: How would adoption of this measure have prevented what happened in Tucson in January 2011?

Bieber bust boredom v. gun rights activism

Yesterday’s arrest of teen heartthrob Justin Bieber may have temporarily distracted some folks from more important business coming up in Olympia, but trust Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) to get the focus back on track with an e-mail alert today to its members, about 12 hours after the National Rifle Association alerted its members, regarding next week’s hearings on the dueling initiatives.

Newspaper CCW project shelved; ‘Gun Talk’ to tackle microstamping

A proposed editorial project, revealed early Friday by the Buckeye Firearms Association (BFA), that would have examined the “explosion” of concealed carry permits and licenses across the country by building “a state-by-state database” of permit holders has been shelved by a newspaper chain because many states have laws that prevent release of that information, Examiner has learned.

BB guns and stolen guns = 0 background checks

Yesterday’s press conference with Interim Seattle Police Chief Harry Bailey dealing with two police-involved shootings earlier this week revealed that one suspect was armed with a BB gun and the other with a stolen handgun out of Kent, but one interesting detail was missed by everybody but Examiner.
